Biography
Halil Akgün graduated from Istanbul University with a degree in Business Administration in 2001 and began his career in the finance department of a holding company. After gaining experience in finance in the private sector, he moved into audit and advisory services in 2005. Before becoming a founding partner of Ecovis Varlık in 2019, he held senior management positions at leading international audit and advisory firms. He holds a master’s degree in Auditing from Istanbul Ticaret University. He provides audit, assurance and advisory services to domestic and international companies, including publicly listed companies.
Areas of Expertise
He has extensive experience in various financial reporting frameworks, particularly Turkish Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US GAAP and German GAAP. His areas of expertise include consolidation, IFRS conversion and implementation, International Standards on Auditing (ISA), internal audit, financial due diligence and valuation.
Professional Qualifications and Memberships
Halil Akgün has been a Certified Public Accountant (SMMM) since 2010 and holds an Independent Auditor Certificate authorized by the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority (KGK). He is a member of the Istanbul Chamber of Certified Public Accountants, the Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants of Türkiye (TURMOB), and the Association of Independent Audit.
